Land Conservation Intern
Are you interested in learning about land conservation in a non-profit setting? Do you want to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment? South Alabama Land Trust is seeking an undergraduate intern for four weeks in Summer 2024 to assist with our critical land conservation work.
Job Responsibilities
- Participate in land stewardship projects such as property management, habitat restoration, and planting.
- Collect geospatial data on SALT properties.
- Assist with SALT’s community outreach including photographing our properties, promoting events, and researching new outreach opportunities.
- Provide administrative support as needed, including data entry, database management, and maintaining records.
Desired Qualifications/Skills
- Currently pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Conservation, or a related field.
- Comfortable working alone in the field.
- Able to lift 25 pounds.
- Valid driver’s license and means of transportation.
Terms of Employment: Intern will complete four weeks of service starting in June or July 2024 (subject to intern availability). The intern must complete a minimum of 137 service hours by the end of their term.
Compensation: $1,300 stipend
