Discover the Gulf Coast Nature Expo

Mark your calendars for an event that celebrates the beauty and wonder of coastal Alabama—the Gulf Coast Nature Expo, happening Saturday, October 4, from 9 AM to 2 PM at Weeks Bay Plantation. Hosted by the South Alabama Land Trust (SALT), this free, family-friendly festival brings together people of all ages to explore the outdoors, connect with local organizations, and experience the natural world in new and exciting ways.

Visitors can enjoy interactive exhibits, including a live raptor show featuring birds of prey up close, a marine life touch tank where children can discover creatures of the sea, and dozens of hands-on displays from conservation groups across the region. Beyond the exhibits, guests will also have the chance to purchase tickets for exclusive guided tours of properties protected by SALT, as well as boat rides on Mobile Bay, offering a one-of-a-kind view of our coastal landscape.

Whether you’re a lifelong outdoor enthusiast or simply curious to learn more about the environment, the Gulf Coast Nature Expo offers a day of exploration, food, music, and family fun. Come experience the wild side of coastal Alabama—and leave inspired to enjoy and protect it for generations to come.
