South Alabama Land Trust is Seeking Renewal of its Accreditation with the Land Trust Accreditation Commission
The South Alabama Land Trust, Inc. (SALT) is pleased to announce it is applying for accreditation renewal with the Land Trust Accreditation Commission (LTAC). The Commission’s accreditation program recognizes land trusts that meet national quality standards for protecting important natural places forever.
The Commission, an independent program of the Land Trust Alliance, conducts an extensive review of each applicant’s policies and programs. According to SALT’s executive director, Jane Herndon, “Aligning our operations with the Commission’s accreditation standards helps SALT ensure that we are operating efficiently, effectively and ethically.”
The Commission invites public input and accepts signed, written comments on pending applications. Comments must relate to how SALT meets national quality standards. These standards address the ethical and technical operation of a land trust. For the full list of standards see http://www.landtrustaccreditation.org/help-and-resources/indicator-practices.
