To protect the land is to know the land

SALT is offering new events that get you closer to the land you love and are helping conserve. From paddle trips, to nature hikes, to backyard habitat workshops, there’s something for everyone.

30 Years. 30 Supporters.

As part of our 30th anniversary celebration, we are telling stories of 30 individuals who have put their stamp on local conservation through their time, talent or treasure. We hope that in reading the stories of Rick and Susie Wallace and Buddy and Mickie Russell, you will meet like-minded people who enjoy the abundance of natural resources—the land, the water, and the wildlife—in south Alabama, and who are doing their part to protect what we have today, and for the tomorrows of those who come behind us.
